Trees & Tides was on display at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, OR from July 11 to August 4, 2015. This online exhibition of the body of work is only presented for reference.

Trees & Tides is an exhibition by two sibling metalsmiths.

Nile G. Fahmy and Michelle Fahmy collaborate on the design and creation of traditionally hammer raised vessels and forged metal objects.

In Trees & Tides, Nile & Michelle will be exploring the geography of the borders between different landscapes.

The forest meets the ocean, shadow plays with light, and the growth of new things is partnered with weathered shapes exposed to the elements.

Metalwork reflecting the nature of Trees and the Forest Floor is pictured below.

Metalwork reflecting the nature of Tides and Coastal forms is pictured below.

Through the use of copper & bronze, silver & gold, you will see metal emulating churning waters, ancient trees, and stolen glimpses of the natural world.

The diversity of the form & movement presented in this metal collection throws into sharp relief the knowledge that every object is brought to life by the simple hammer blow.
